Gull Wave, White Strand

Gull Wave, White Strand is a cotton calico wall hanging, dyed and hand painted with pigments. Its surface was textured with paper and fabric, using machine and hand stitch. Atlantic waves breaking at the headland of White Strand, west County Clare are depicted here. Three gulls are chasing the curling wave crest and coasting on the updraft of moving water.
