Curlew, Gold Horizon

Curlew, Gold Horizon is a cotton calico wall hanging, dyed and hand painted with pigments. Its surface was textured with paper and fabric, using machine and hand stitch. It depicts curlews passing over the horizon, looking out towards the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of County Clare, Ireland. The golden light of the horizon draws the observer towards the Land of the Young, the legendary Tír na nÓg.
