Icelandic Inspiration

This sculpture is inspired by the Icelandic lava fields where vegetation struggles to grow. Crafted with volcanic mineral inclusions in the clay, the base is designed to resemble slag, supporting the delicate layer of emerging vegetation. The process has involved three firings in a gas kiln at 1300°C.
