The Work of the Night

In becoming a mother and loosing close members of her family, Verena Schatz went through some of the most fundamental human experiences during the creation of this sculptural glass piece, "Die Arbeit der Nacht" or "The Work of the Night". As a result of the way the heart has been constructed, it emits an organic character and possesses an intricate, landscape like surface. The excruciatingly slow process has become a meditative task as well as therapy throughout these various emotional states.
