Ajeto Glassworks has been a beacon of Bohemian hand-blown glass since the 1990s. The manufacturer embodies the vision of three renowned Czech glass masters Bořek Šípek, Petr Novotný and Libor Fafala. Together they founded Ajeto Glassworks in 1994 in the Bohemian countryside of Lindava during that year’s International Glass Symposium (IGS), and is now renowned for its handcrafted decorative glass. The workshop serves as a mecca for metallurgical glass processing, attracting artists, designers, architects, and filmmakers from around the globe. The company takes pride in using centuries-old techniques and tools to craft its creations.
Ajeto Glassworks regularly hosts international designers and artists who collaborate with resident glassmakers to produce unique art pieces. In 2017, Ajeto became part of Bohemian design and artisan house Lasvit, which is committed to preserving a legacy of glassblowing while ensuring eco-friendly production practices. The name Ajeto is derived from a vase design by Bořek, founding artistic director, who is celebrated for creating directly from his imagination without sketches. This vase reflects the manufacturer’s ornate and opulent aesthetic, inspired by nature. The company perpetuates Bořek’s original collection by collaborating with new-generation designers to infuse contemporary perspectives into the artistry.
