Dance of Life

This ceramic vase resembles the shape of a volcano and is decorated with animals and people dancing around its conical hill. It represents either the dance of a thriving civilisation or the dance of life around a dormant volcano, serving as a reminder of our fleeting existence. The animals and figures on the vessel are inspired by the ancient motifs found on pottery from the Akrotiri settlement on the island of Santorini, reimagined through Korina Doerr’s artistic interpretation.
