“I am because we are,” or, “I am who I am thanks to the people around me.” The meaning of this phrase is reflected in the design of the seven black discs of Welsh slate and the fragments of text upon them. Each individual stone has no meaning on its own. Only the entirety forms the work and gives it meaning.
