Gingerbread Castle

This is a glass Christmas ornament made from blown glass and painted with mixed techniques. The background is painted on the inside with oil colours, to preserve the shine of the glass on the outside, while the details are painted on the outside in special glass colours. This technique ensures that Christmas ornaments have the same shine as glass paintings. The painting is inspired by a gingerbread castle, a very popular theme for Christmas in Transylvania, based on its German heritage.
