Matcha tea bowl with gold leaf

This matcha tea bowl has been shaped by hand on a potter's wheel and parts of the interior decorated with gold leaf. Eva Spoof uses Kultela clay to build the piece, a red earthenware wild clay from the small village of Kultela in Somero, Southwestern Finland. The material gives the products a wonderfully rich character. By choosing this local raw material, Eva want to emphasise the unique and ecological value of local clay.
