Khachkar

This Khachkar, otherwise known as an Armenian cross, has been hand sculpted from a block of sandstone. The Khachkar has been sculpted with a Christian cross surrounded by carved motifs such as botanical and interlaces de designs, typical of medieval Armenian Christian art. The overall design is reminiscent of a church altar.
