Bookbinder Kate Holland based in the UK & Danish fellow Emma Vukman
Kate opened her current workshop in 2007 in a refurbished cowshed near Frome, UK, a historic town of binders. She loves the craft’s need for precision and the fact that its tools, materials (bought from suppliers in Britain) and techniques have not changed for centuries. Nevertheless, her work very much reflects modern sensibilities and aesthetics.
Fellow Emma, from Copenhagen, is a graphic designer, bookbinding apprentice and publishing graduate specialising in reading accessibility. Her goal is to combine her binding skills and business training to establish an independent press focused on inclusive design.
