Workshop on clay colouring in Santiago

with Lucas Nicolao

Personalise a clay piece with coloring

Clay colouring is a process that requires knowledge of clay properties, materials, and working procedures. In this 2.5-hour workshop, ceramicist Lucas Nicolao opens his studio to teach different techniques and processes for colouring ceramic clays. You will learn how to handle oxides and pigments to add colour to clay, as well as methods of exploration to discover infinite shades. Using the coloured clays you will experiment and build a small object using modelling techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building. You can retrieve your glazed and fired piece two weeks after the workshop. Please note that the workshop requires a minimum of 2 people in order to take place, and all materials and firings are included in the price.
