In this 5-day workshop, Julia Buntzel and Miriam Gronwald invite you to explore the essentials of hand-weaving using a variety of four-shaft looms. From designing and creating your own warp to setting up a loom, this workshop equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to embark on your first weaving project alone. During the first three days, you will learn how to plan a project, make a warp on a warping wheel, and thread a loom following a pattern draft. Once your loom is prepared, the second half of the workshop focuses on weaving foundational structures such as plain weave, twill variations and basket weave. By the end of the workshop, you will take home your own set of handwoven pattern samples (4–8 pieces) along with a step-by-step workbook on warping and loom setup. Designed for advanced beginners, this workshop is ideal for those looking to deepen their understanding of weaving. It is open to participants with some weaving experience, too. Please note that this experience costs 650 EUR per person, and consists of 4-hour sessions over the course of 5 days.
