WOOD MOOD atelier was founded by husband and wife Andriy and Anastasiia Burzi in Kharkiv in 2019. Inspired by the Danish hygge philosophy, they aimed to break the status quo in candle production, bringing to life the concept of a candle made from wood. The candles are made of a two-part patented structure with heat-resistant walls and a clay base that separates the wax and the wood. As parents, safety and wellness are at the core of the founders' vision and concerns for WOOD MOOD.
Defined by principles of environmental friendliness and naturalness, WOOD MOOD's unconventional product has been a success on both Ukrainian and international markets. The atelier's candles are made of recycled wood, natural wax, clay and pure essential oils. They are also refillable thanks to special wax cartridges, a WOOD MOOD speciality. In 2023, the atelier's candles were nominated for the Formex Sustainability Awards. Today, the duo works in the workshop in the small town of Hostomel', near Kyiv.
