Feminine textures that speak

  • Koral relishes conveying emotions through her work
  • She makes tapestries from a variety of fibres and materials.
  • She masters embroidery, punch needle, and latch hook techniques

Koral Antolín obtained a degree in Fine Arts which enriched her artistic perspective. "I maintain a constant curiosity, exploring new techniques in both formal courses and self-taught ways, contributing to my continuous development," she says. "My learning has been more of a personal exploration and absorption of knowledge from various sources. Over the years, I have adapted my creative environment according to needs." Her atelier is called Studio Fi and is located in the centre of Madrid. "My inspiration comes from a crucible of constantly evolving influences. In addition to trends and the aesthetic world around me, I find an endless source of creativity in the female figure and the powerful strength that emanates from it. I explore the concept of life and the intricate paths we tread, seeking to represent in an abstract way the complexity and beauty inherent to our existence. These sources of inspiration intertwine, shaping the unique visual narrative that permeates my creations at Studio Fi."

Was craftsmanship part of your childhood?
Since I was a child, creativity has been intrinsic to my being. My fascination with creating objects, customising clothes, and learning various techniques with my family led me to choose a path focused on art and creativity.
What are your priorities when working?
My priority is to achieve a result that conveys an experience to the viewer, beyond following a strictly traditional route. At Studio Fi, we are passionate about innovation by combining various techniques, constantly seeking different and original results.
How would you define your pieces?
At Studio Fi, we create artistic textile pieces. I experiment with techniques and materials to create new textures and finishes that turn tapestries into unique works of art, designed to make a lasting impact over time.
What do you seek with your objects?
I do not limit myself to simply following traditional processes. I seek excellence in creating pieces that are not only technically correct but also provoke an emotional connection and leave a lasting impression on those who experience them. My aim is to convey emotions and tell stories through volumes and textures.
