Torn Beech black chair

This chair is one of four seats made from a 150-year-old storm-fallen beech tree, hand-hewn and sympathetically shaped, with traces of the original form visible underneath. The legs and back spindles are cleaved from local oak, with hand carved oak pebble details bracing the spindles to define the backrest. It is threaded together with leather thong, and the entire piece is ebonised.
