Le Sang de la Veine

This sculptural piece features a copper bramble emerging from a piece of dead wood. The metal stem appears implanted rather than grown, like a sword in the stone, not a plant from seed. Its thorns resist touch, questioning the human urge to collect, possess, or control what grows. Inspired by philosopher Blaise Pascal’s reflections on nature and spirit, the work invites us to reconsider our relationship with living matter.
