LATE AFTERNOON

This piece from Manu Almeida’s Mormaço series centres on yellow, a colour she associates with the warmth and softness of late afternoon light. Made with cotton, both natural and dyed jute, and straw, it brings together tight, vertical and horizontal threads and a looser, frayed fringe, letting texture guide the composition in a tactile way.
