with Juana Del Carmen Maribur Paloma

Learn about ñocha weaving

Since 2005, Juana Del Carmen Maribur Polma has become one of the leading figures in the region in working with ñocha. After winning the Excellence Seal awarded by the Council of Culture in 2015 with a piece called Nial Arre Cofque, she has been innovating in new creations while maintaining and transmitting the ancestral cultural tradition of Mapuche weaving with ñocha. Visiting Juana's workshop will teach you all about the noble art of ñocha weaving. In addition to that, you will also be able to learn about the history of the artisan and appreciate her different works. Please note that visits to Juana's workshop are subject to prior appointment.
