Weaving course near Nantes

Artisan Justine Bossé masters the craft of leather weaving, preferring to incorporate unexpected materials while tackling traditional techniques. To help others experiment with the craft and discover their creativity, Justine offers this course on the basics of weaving. Students will learn to weave on a loom of 4 to 12 frames, as well as how to install the loom and create basic weaves. During the course students will work with canvas, satin twill and their derivatives. The course lasts minimum 35 hours (5 days of 7 hours) spread out over weeks and costs 27 EUR per hour. To help others experiment with this craft and understand its complexity, Justine offers the course on the theory of a complex weave, which is the way the warp and weft threads intertwine. In this course, students will touch upon the subjects, such as how to use a double canvas, create weaves and choose threads. Students will also choose their yardage and create their own weaves. Weaving experience is required. The course lasts minimum 35 hours (5 days of 7 hours) spread out over weeks and costs 27 EUR per hour. The exact arrangement is to be discussed with Justine.
