Alfonso Hidalgo Cruz also specialises in raku firing ceramics, a technique that consists in glazing the pieces and firing them at a low 950ºC. In this 3-hour workshop, Alfonso will share his passion and expertise acquired over the years. Following a visit to his workshop, Alfonso will guide participants in experiencing this ancient technique. Red-hot pieces will be taken out from the kiln and the glaze will be subjected to reductions with organic materials, such as saw, wood and shells. Once the desired effect is achieved, they are placed in water. This is a ceramic spectacle where fire, air, earth and water harmoniously converge.
