Knife forging course near Reykjavik

with Palli Kristjánsson & Soffía Sigurðardóttir

Craft a unique Icelandic knife

In the harsh Nordic landscape, the quality of your knife could be a deciding factor in your survival. Become a knife maker for the day with master craftsman Palli Kristjánsson. In this one-day workshop you will discover techniques that Palli has been using for decades. All materials are included and Palli will share natural materials that he has gathered over the years, allowing you to create a piece that is authentically Icelandic. After creating your knife, you also get the chance to make a leather sheath. All this is done under Palli’s supervision and watchful eye. For those looking for a more intensive experience, multi-day courses are available on request. These give participants more insight into the shaping of the actual blade. The one-day workshop costs ISK 75,000 for 2 people, or ISK 25,000 per person for 3 people or more.
