with Maria Economides

Work with clay in all its forms

Join Maria Economides for an immersive 2-hour workshop in which you will learn the fundamental techniques of hand-building in ceramics. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on experience explores the versatility of clay through various methods of shaping and constructing forms without a pottery wheel. You will learn techniques such as pinching—one of the oldest methods of forming clay by hand, coiling, where long ropes or coils of clay are stacked to build forms, and slab building, which involves rolling out flat sheets of clay to cut and assemble.
