Three-day introduction course to lapidary in Antwerp

with Dana Seachuga & Octave Vandeweghe

Discover the art of lapidary

Dana Seachuga and Octave Vandeweghe invite you for an immersion into the ancient art of lapidary during an engaging three-day course, with sessions lasting five hours each day. The experience will start with a brief exploration of its fascinating history, tracing the evolution of bruting, carving, and faceting from prehistoric times to the present day. You will then learn about selected gemstones, their valued characteristics, and their significance—both practical and esoteric, as interpreted since the Middle Ages. Later, you will step into the atelier to familiarise yourself with the tools, machines, and techniques of this craft, and gain hands-on experience working with the materials. By the end of the course, you will have created your own unique stone segment, perfect as a personal jewel, amulet, or token. All materials are included, and advance booking is required. Please note that the price for this experience is 650 EUR for a single participant, or 250 EUR per person for a group of three.
