Initiation to traditional woodwork in Vazerac

with Julien Hardy

Learn the fundamentals of working by hand

This private workshop, hosted by woodcarver Julien Hardy, is designed to teach you the fundamentals of working with wood by hand. The aim is to experiment with manual tools while creating a contemporary piece. Over two days, you will experience the use of a wide range of planes, saws and chisels to carve wood, create noble joinery such as dovetails, draw bored tenon and mortises, without using any machines at all. Alongside practical work, there will also be a theoretical session, during which Julien will cover sharpening, natural glues and finishing products. He will also provide some references. This private lesson costs 600 EUR including wood and runs eight hours per day, from 10:00 to 19:00.
