Immersive one-day ceramic coiling workshop in Greece

with Nancy Livathinou

Learn to coil and pinch build a vessel and a ceramic flower

Ceramicist Nancy Livathinou welcomes you into her clay studio to teach you how to create a bowl using the coil and pinch building techniques. Following a brief introduction about clay and how Nancy creates her objects, you will start working on your own ceramic piece. Coil building is a forming method that uses ropelike clay to build up a vessel or sculpture. You might also use the pinch building technique, a method where you get to pinch the clay into the desired shape. These techniques are fundamental to learning how to build any form you wish. You will also be taught how to form a flower to add to your bowl, making petals one by one with the palms of your hands and how to compose them all together at the end. The final pieces will be fired and can be sent to your home once they are ready for an added fee. Please note that this experience costs 140 EUR per person.
