Beginner and advanced course in stone sculpture

with Tom Flick

Stone sculpture for beginners and advanced stone carvers

Tom Flick’s workshop is located in the former sawmill in Koerich and since 2001 it has been the seat of the Sixthfloor collective, of which Tom is one of the founders. This three-day intensive course, which takes place during an extended weekend, starts with a series of sketches or a little model in clay. Participants will each have a stone block to work on, and will draw simple lines on both sides. Then they will start to take away some of the material with a hammer and chisel or with pneumatic tools. As the work progresses, they will start to rasp and grind the volumes more clearly. To finish the work, participants will be shown how to polish their sculpture. Each day is made up of 8 hours of tuition. The cost is 250€ per person + raw materials.
