A Coruña is often referred to as the glass city, due to the many glazed window balconies, or galerias, scattered along the city's coast. Despite the dominance of glass, A Coruña is an unnamed capital of Galician ceramics, cultivating behind the galerias generations of pottery-specialising craftspeople.
