Wood's is a small family run atelier in the Croatian village of Slunj founded in 2018 with a desire to design and produce handmade toys exclusively from natural materials found in the region. Wood’s was initiated by Kristina Galić when she became a mother herself and wanted to provide her child with quality and educational toys. She joined forces with her father Nikola Štefanac who is a woodworker and her mother Ljubica Štefanac who is in charge of the production planning and finances.
Each toy is carefully produced, with respect to tradition and quality, out of local wood – mainly oak, cherry, ash, walnut and beech – and can be fully recycled. Two main collections of Wood’s products are inspired by animals and vehicles. Wheels and moving parts of the toys help children in developing their motor skills and logic, while resembling the simplicity of the toys of an older generation. The workshop, located within the complex of the family house, is open to the public and visits can be arranged by appointment.
