Francisco Pons Oliver, a third-generation hat maker, brought Oliver Hats into the 21st century with a fresh vision. The business was founded in 1955 by Vicente Pons Diego in the province of Alicante, as a traditional dress hat atelier. It passed on to Francisco’s father, a former banker skilled in numbers but less so in creative pursuits. Francisco, on the contrary, had been brought up among fabrics, patterns and moulds that nourished his innate creativity. In 2011, his genius was given free rein as he took over the business.
"My mind is always transforming and innovating," says Francisco, describing how he modernised the brand’s classic styles while specialising in restoring regional and historical models. His passion for history opened a unique niche, by recreating antique designs and catering to institutional dress codes, opera, theatre, and cinema. Under Francisco’s leadership, Oliver Hats expanded to international markets in 2014, blending tradition with innovation to stand out in the millinery industry.
