Colourful jewellery and intimate objets d'art

Since the 1950s, the house of Goossens has practised a savoir-faire that extends from goldsmithing to fine jewellery making. Covering a range of specialised crafts, the team of artisans is devoted to the creation of jewellery and ornaments, as well as one-of-a-kind decorative objects. Originally a goldsmith's workshop, Goossens was founded in 1950 by Robert Goossens, a talented jewellery maker. After learning metalworking from his father who owned a foundry in Paris, Robert gained valuable experience working in the city's leading goldsmiths' and jewellers' workshops.

In 1953, he met Gabrielle Chanel, who was quickly drawn to the excellence of his work and his modern vision for jewellery. She was particularly inspired by his ability to revisit jewellery from the days of Antiquity, Byzantium and Ancient Egypt. Following that first meeting, Goossens became one of her loyal suppliers. Over the years, the atelier has continued to challenge the limits of its craft, masterfully turning bronze, rock crystal, wood or even molten glass into veritable objets d'art. The house joined Chanel Métiers d'art in 2005.
