From north to south, Diego Dávila Sierra has roamed the long, narrow land that is Chile, in search of life and wood. Born in Iquique, on the northern coast, he left his hometown at the age of 19 for Santiago. He then moved to Valparaíso, where he earned a degree as an agricultural technician in 2005 while supporting himself working in well-known restaurants. Later, his work took him further south, unaware that the green forests of the Maule Region would reshape his career. In Rari, he discovered the wonders of native woods and relocated there in 2010. Ever since then, Diego has dedicated himself to crafting original, functional objects and kitchen tools, specialising in the use of noble woods and wood recovery. "My work aligns with the local and slow food philosophy. I make kitchen tools and tableware that bring warmth and uniqueness to the act of cooking and gathering around food. I aim to integrate cultural narratives into each piece I create," he explains.
