Feinheit Goldschmiede
Jewellery maker

Crafting together for better or for worse

  • Niki and Andreas love to experiment with materials such as wood, titanium and gemstones
  • The couple specialises in handcrafting wedding bands
  • Jewellery making is a second career for both of them

Husband and wife Andreas and Niki Feiertag’s bond goes beyond love, with a shared passion for refined design and beautiful jewellery. Andreas began his goldsmith training in Graz in 1985 and returned to goldsmithing after a career in IT. In 2009, he and Niki launched their business. Initially focused on administration, Niki grew fascinated by the craft and began to study for a Master’s programme in jewellery and metal design in Graz. Together, the couple brings their creativity to life, emphasising the importance of empathy in their work. They believe understanding clients’ unspoken wishes is essential for making them feel at ease and building lasting trust. This connection becomes especially meaningful when clients return for unique pieces, from engagement rings to wedding bands or family heirlooms, turning each project into a cherished part of a larger, shared story.

What are your favourite materials?
Andreas: I prefer working with gold, but I also enjoy working with stones, wood, and titanium. Combining elements is my passion. I am currently making a ring with carbon and gold. Niki: I love experimenting and often start with copper or brass, which are less risky than using gold.
Do you offer a special service?
Niki: We are one of the few goldsmiths in Europe specialising in wedding rings with wood, and mainly desert ironwood. The wood is always paired with either precious metal or titanium, and can be placed inside or outside the ring. Uniquely, these rings can be resized, even years later.
What does 'well-designed' mean to you?
Niki: I am quite self-critical, thinking I can always improve a piece, while my husband says, "Please stop, it is perfect." I am still learning to trust the process and that when things do not go as planned, in the end, it always works out.
What was a rather memorable order?
Andreas: I often share the story of working for 'three white witches'. They commissioned a €15,000 cross, crafted with stones from around the world and intricate runes, to heal the Earth. I spent around 100 hours on it the piece. It was a fascinating and unforgettable project.
Andreas & Niki Feiertag are master artisans: they began their career in 2009 and they started teaching in 2015
